Our story
Straight Answers, Straightforward Repairs
Formula Auto Repair is a small, owner-operated shop in Chula Vista run by Hugo and his team. We work on Jeeps, Hondas, Chevys, BMWs, Toyotas and just about everything in between, tracking down problems that other shops miss and fixing them the first time.
Before we touch your car, we walk you through what's actually wrong and what it will cost. We only do the work you approve, and we back it up with a real warranty.
Many of our customers have been with us for years, some for decades, because they know exactly what to expect: fair prices, honest answers, and work done right.
- Owner-operated by Hugo
- Approval required before any repair
- Works on most makes and models
- Loyal customers for decades

“You can 100% trust Hugo and his team with whatever your car needs done. Also has very fair and reasonable prices and he's very honest, will tell you straight up what you need and only charge you for what needs to be done to repair your car, and first will ask you for your approval before he even does anything to the car.”
“The best mechanic you will ever find! Almost 30 years now of great service. I've had a Jeep, Pontiac, Honda and Chevy all serviced by Formula. I've always been very happy with the work. I would never use anyone else in San Diego.”
